1. Create a Love Map about your partner: this is a mental "map" of your partner's likes and dislikes, preferences, hobbies and life dreams. A simple way to learn more is to ask open-ended questions such as: "How are you feeling about your job?" and "What is your ideal vacation?"
2. Create a Culture of Appreciation: be mindful today of what your partner has done to help you or your child and make sure to tell him/her "thank you!"
3. Turning Towards: When your partner speaks to you turn toward him/her and acknowledge their bid for your attention.
You'd be surprised how simple these steps are and how more connected you will feel to each other.
